Expressive Arts Education

NextStage Productions endeavors to provide educational and performance opportunities to seniors that will enrich individual lives as well as the lives of those in the community. We believe that acquiring knowledge and sharing with others enhances self-esteem and gives purpose to those in the lifelong learner/senior age demographic. Our classes are scheduled to build skills by offering sequential courses or by pairing so that students may take classes that cross pollinate in teaching ideas. For example, we have successfully paired Broadway dance with Musical Theater and also voice study with Feldenkrais.

Previously held as a collaboration of NextStage Productions, Cabrillo Extension, Cabrillo Stage, and Cabrillo Theatre Arts Department, NextStage Summer Camp offers a spectrum of professionally taught classes designed for life-long learners aged 50+. Set in a safe and encouraging environment, artists and student artists hone their skills while enjoying the companionship of others with a similar focus in concentrated one to two week courses. Explore how the creative process promotes health, lifelong learning and an empowering sense of mastery in the theatrical disciplines one wishes to study. Currently on hold.

Class Showcases

NextStage Productions understands that performing/creative arts have a social component and with that knowledge, we program community events that utilize our learned creative and performing abilities.
